How the math works
- Unpaid change order work = jobs × change orders per job × average value × share done unsigned × share of that never paid.
- Paperwork hours = hours per week × 50 working weeks.
- Value of those hours = paperwork hours × what an hour of your time is worth.
It doesn't count late payments, retainage held longer than it should be, or work lost to subs who answer faster, so the real number is usually higher than this estimate.
